Children and Teachers First

I will ALWAYS act in our children and school staff’s best interests. I am proud to be a product of this district. I consider it to be one of the very best in our area, and I still remember the impact several of my former teachers had on me, even at a young age. I know that individualized education is crucial to student success, and strongly support funding special education programs.

Transparency

I stand for transparency. I believe board members should be fully transparent with the public. I believe board members should be responsive and attentive to the needs of the public. I will always explain my decisions and pledge to respond to any public concerns.

Fiscal Responsibility

I believe strongly in fiscal responsibility. I will be fiscally conservative, while making sure our budget prioritizes our student’s and staff’s needs.

Staff Support

I believe strongly that the district must support all of its staff members so they can best support our students.

Board Consensus

I have a pattern of consensus building and will work with my fellow Board Members to build consensus that gives each child, wherever they are individually, the best foundation for success we can possibly give them.

Parental Engagement

I strongly stand for parental involvement and believe strongly that parents should be informed, give expressed consent where needed, and make decisions for their children. I support each parent’s individual right to make these decisions. As a father, I want to make these decisions for my own children, and pledge to never force something on any other child which I would not do for my own.

Safety

I know how to keep our children safe. As a law enforcement officer, I responded to the December 2nd terror attack, plan large events where safety is of the utmost importance, and will use my knowledge to keep our children and staff safe. In the day and age where acts of mass violence occur more frequently, I believe I have the experience in this area to benefit my constituents and our most precious family members, our children. I believe our children are our most precious family members, and we must protect them. I believe a partnership with local law enforcement is the best way to keep them safe. Sadly, there are many stories of violent acts occurring at or near schools. We must be prepared for these acts and our kids’ safety is of paramount importance to me.

Quality Education

I believe every student deserves a quality education and the opportunity to develop their skills to the fullest extent. Students go to school to learn reading, writing, math, language arts, science, etc. Other topics should be reserved for parents and only taught, when absolutely necessary, with full parental knowledge and express written consent. Government exists for the societal purpose of of providing for its community the things that they cannot provide for themselves.
